CAREER

Extensive experience of highway Operations & Maintenance, pavement and structures construction supervision, on schemes of varying complexity and budgets and the management of strategic road networks.

My 35 year career in highways construction and project management has enabled me to develop skills in multiple disciplines working for both the client and client facing roles.

As Senior Manager for a Tier 1 Contractor, my role requires me to develop strategies and systems, processes and procedures in response to new legislation and changing demands of clients and industry. I am a Fellow of the CHIT and Vice Chair of CECA(NE)

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I consider myself fortunate to have served the CIOB and its members in a variety of positions to date, including my previous role as Chair of the Tees Valley Centre & North East Branch and subsequently a member of the North East Hub. In addition, I have served on the Nominations Committee which provided great insight of the governance of the CIOB.

At this time of unprecedented levels of investment in highway and transportation infrastructure in the UK, I wish to share my broad experience gained through a 35 yr career within the sector with CIOB stakeholders.

This will help in shaping the future of the CIOB in regards to our CPD initiatives and policies whilst attracting new members from the sector, at all times remaining aligned to the Corporate Plan 2020- 2023 as the moral compass of the construction industry.
