Development Manager - Hong Kong
Location: Hong Kong/Hybrid working
Department: Membership
Working Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
About the role
We are the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership.
We’re looking for a Development Manager in Hong Kong. Someone who can grow our partnerships and membership and deliver excellent value for money to our existing large member base.
You will be responsible for driving forward membership growth at an individual and company level and growing other revenue streams such as event sponsorship.
You will also work collaboratively with your colleagues to develop and maintain key strategic relationships, to grow the CIOB’s influence, recognition and reach.
You will be able to deliver a strong programme of events, which you will plan strategically according to industry and member needs.
About You
You will bring experience, ambition and drive to the role. You’ll be truly collaborative and consistently strive for excellence.
You’ll be able to demonstrate success within business development, consultative sales, account and relationship management and will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs.
With a high degree of professionalism, honesty and integrity, you will be motivated to achieve results and have excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills, giving you the ability to adjust your communication style to a wide range of audiences and levels of seniority. We also ask that you have experience of presenting to and engaging with customers at a senior level to develop relationships.
Experience of the construction and built environment sector or within a professional body is desirable but not essential.
Based in Hong Kong, you will have a willingness to travel locally and regularly within the Greater Bay area, and to work flexible hours to meet the organisation’s needs. Liaising regularly with colleagues in the UK and around the globe, you will also have good levels of written and spoken English. As working with Mainland colleagues and members is important strong Mandarin is also desirable in addition to native level Cantonese.
Why Work For Us?
We can offer you not only the opportunity to make a real difference with the work you do, but the chance to do that in a really friendly, flexible and welcoming working environment, where we’ll show you that we’re committed to your personal wellbeing and to your development within your role.
We’ll offer you a range of benefits – from access to a great pension scheme through to a variety of health and wellbeing schemes; and we’ll make sure that you’re constantly learning throughout your time with us. We hold a Silver Investors in People Award (an independent UK recognition scheme) – which we really hope will show you our commitment to this.
