Introducing CIOB’s Advisory Panels

Creating the link between construction and government.

Last updated: 9th November 2024

At the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) we have several Advisory Panels that provide us with technical, on-the-ground knowledge that can be fed into our conversations and work with government.

Each of our advisory panels align with our Corporate Plan themes, and issues important to the built environment.

As of 2024 we have the following advisory panels:

  • Digital & Innovation
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing
  • Heritage
  • Sustainability

All of the Advisory Panels have identified their own objectives which are renewed at the start of each year. These objectives delve deeper into a particular issue and have an output in mind. This is often a report or CPD that helps industry, or a briefing paper for policy makers.

As Advisory Panel members are a key part of bridging the gap between industry and government, they include both CIOB and non-CIOB members to ensure we have the right expertise feeding into our work. Members of the panels can help us develop outputs we can take to policy makers helping to further best practice and standards or alleviate any barriers or obstacles that inhibit or reduce confidence, productivity, and growth in the construction sector.

We will often advertise vacancies for the Advisory Panels here
