The CIOB Benevolent Fund
You might not know, I certainly didn’t until today, that the CIOB Benevolent Fund provides a service of practical advice, information and financial assistance for Members who fall upon hard times. It was established in 1992 and has helped many members since then get back on their feet and offered support for their families too.
You might not know, I certainly didn’t until today, that the CIOB Benevolent Fund provides a service of practical advice, information and financial assistance for Members who fall upon hard times.
It was established in 1992 and has helped many members since then get back on their feet and offered support for their families too.
What makes the Fund so special is that it is funded by members who choose to donate. That sense of community within the CIOB is something we can all feel incredibly proud about.
Frank MacDonald [pictured above], who manages the scheme, has said one of the challenges for the Fund is not in attracting the generosity from other members, but is getting members who do need a hand to reach out and ask for our help.
So, if you are a CIOB member and you need someone to listen, or lean on, don’t forget about the Benevolent Fund. It is here to help you and we all need help from time to time.
