The Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities will unite Humanities faculties at the University in a new, community-accessible building in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. Designed as a hub for exploring what it means to be human, the centre will include academic spaces, a 500-seat concert hall, a 250-seat theatre and film area, the Bodleian library, and the Bate music collection. Constructed using Modern Methods of Construction, it will feature advanced acoustic design and meet Passivhaus standards. This is the University’s largest-ever building project, delivered by Laing O’Rourke, who have completed 12 projects for the University over 20 years.
