Meeting the UK's Housing Demand
The Built Environment Select Committee opened an inquiry to investigate the demand for new housing in the UK and how barriers to meeting this demand can be overcome.
The inquiry asked for responses to the key factors shaping the type, tenure and quality of housing needed in the UK. In addition, to a range of challenges to meeting that demand including skills shortages in the construction industry and some specific aspects of the planning system.
CIOB responded to the inquiry and you can read the submitted evidence on their website here. To read the Committee inquiry click here.
The Committee will report by the end of the year and make recommendations to the Government.
