The Chartered Institute of Building has published its Annual Review and Accounts for 2020. This saw the first year of the Institute’s current Corporate Plan, stretching from 2020-2023.

In the Chief Executive’s Report Caroline Gumble, CEO of CIOB, praises the Institute’s quick-thinking by offering financial flexibility to its members at the beginning of the pandemic, with extended payment periods and freezing its subscription rates for 2021 at 2020 levels. These moves to support members financially were formalised with the ‘Covid-19 Support Fund’. She also notes CIOB’s ability to successfully move events such as Members’ Forum and the prestigious Construction Manager of the Year to virtual platforms.

As the world adapted to the challenges posed by the pandemic, the CIOB Annual Review and Accounts records that more 22,000 people from around the globe attended its CPD packages online, and millions of users visited CIOB’s main website and news portals. Other highlights include the Understanding Mental Health in the Built Environment report and Guide to Construction Quality. To read the Annual Review 2020 and past reviews in full click here.
