Why enter?
The best in the business
Winning an award at the CIOB Ireland Awards can provide you with a wealth of new opportunities and be a springboard in your career unlike any other. In fact, many of our previous CIOB Ireland Awards winners have said that the awards have had hugely positive effects on their career. You will meet leaders and other upcoming talent from throughout the built environment, making entering the competition a networking opportunity like no other.
It’s about more than a building
The CIOB Ireland Awards celebrates the achievements of those who inspire, lead and enable the very best delivery of a project and produce buildings that have a positive impact on those who use them. Our judges look beyond the building, at the project as a whole. It’s not about being the biggest or most impressive but about the individuals who make these projects possible, and the impacts they deliver.
Categories
Rising Star
The Rising Star Award celebrates new, exceptional talent in the industry. It awards individuals who have demonstrated the highest level of excellence at the very start of their career in construction. The nomination is open to both CIOB members and non-members who have been in the construction industry for five years or less. Note: you may not nominate yourself.
Team of the Year
The CIOB Team of the Year Award celebrates the collaboration and combined efforts of groups of people working together to meet a combined goal. Teams can be any group of three or more people working within the built environment within a single organisational entity. Note: You may nominate your own team, therefore the independent testimonial must come from someone outside the team’s organisation with direct knowledge or experience of working with the nominated team.
Client of the Year
Clients are pivotal to the success of any project. Clients that commission buildings that have a positive impact on end users and the wider society are celebrated with the CIOB Client of the Year Award. Collaborative working, risk management, innovation, the use of digital technologies and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion are just some of the factors considered by the judges. The client should be an Ireland-based organisation that has led the commissioning of construction projects. Note: you may nominate your own organisation, therefore the independent testimonial required must come from someone who is not a client employee but has experience of working with the nominated client e.g. Main Contractor/Architect.
Sustainability Award
The Sustainability Award celebrates those who have made their mark on sustainability within the built environment. The construction industry has started to take steps to become more sustainable by looking at new methods to cut down on waste as well as innovating new products that can help improve many facets of the building process.
Our CIOB Sustainability Award winner will have demonstrated their understanding of sustainable development whilst taking an active role in supporting communities. Note: You may nominate yourself for this award, therefore the independent testimonial must come from someone outside of the candidate’s organisation, with direct knowledge or experience of working with the candidate.
